Week 4 – “One Room Challenge” – Master Bathroom Renovation Bathtub Installation

Welcome to Week 4 of our Master Bathroom One Room Challenge™.  Happy Haute Home is joining this Spring as a Guest Participant. This event is a widely anticipated biannual event every April and October. Each round, twenty design bloggers take the challenge and transform a space. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over the six weekly posts. This challenge is hosted by Linda at Calling it Home.

If you missed my prior posts on our bathroom renovation, you can catch up here on all the design plans, progress, and budget.

Week 1/Week 2/Week 3/

Remember the original picture of our built-in tub from Week 1? We have come a long way in 4 weeks.IMG_0477

The plantation shutters have been installed, the old tub has been completely removed, the flooring tile has been laid and the shower is almost complete. The pre plumbing work for the free standing faucet has been done and the space is looking fantastic!fullsizeoutput_6f81

All drywall work in the bathroom is happening this week including repairing the area around the bathtub from when we ripped out the old tub. The new cut-outs/inserts on the sides of the tub are being created as well. The bathroom appears so much bigger without that giant built in tub taking up so much space!

An electrical outlet is being installed over the bathtub area to allow us to hang a beautiful pendant light. IMG_0093

My plumber has returned to install the bathtub, toilets and the free standing tub faucet. This bathtub faucet is amazing, and it has a hand held piece! I’m most excited to see our new free standing bathtub and faucet installed! I can’t wait! Are you ready to see it??

Ta Daaa!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! It’s so sleek and modern looking and super comfortable 🙂 Yes I have already gotten in to try it out. Having a free standing bathtub completely changes the look of the room, giving it a spa like feel.

Notice the cut-out on the sides of the drywall? I want to add glass tiles on the back to give added dimension to the space. I’m so happy with the results so far!!IMG_2284

The plumber is also installing the beautiful rain-head shower system, the handheld shower and an additional shower head. After all, you can never have enough shower heads! They all look beautiful.

We are waiting on the shower door installation, hoping that will be done in time for the final reveal.fullsizeoutput_6f7e

Stayed tuned for Week 5 when we install the granite countertops and paint the cabinets!
