Ellen Degeneres, aka “the real estate queen of Hollywood” has purchased yet another California Home. Ellen, who currently has a home on the market HERE, is the proud new owner of a beachfront home in Carpinteria, California. The home is a 1.13-acre ocean front estate about 10 miles west of downtown Santa Barbara on prestigious Padaro Lane in the small coastal community of Carpinteria, CA.

Let’s look inside Ellen and Portia’s new pad.
The driveway to the home winds through eucalyptus trees.
The tennis court is located to the right of the estate, as seen before you enter the main residence.
The home is a shingled-sided contemporary house with 6,000 square feet.
The home has an open floor plan, and features a fireplace with a step-up living room area and a room-wide picture window that frames a view of the ocean. The home also has a two-story wall of windows on the opposite wall opening the room to the courtyard.
The home has floor to ceiling glass sliders for easy access to the ocean.
The glass sliders are located throughout the home.
The kitchen is equipped with a huge, stainless steel-clad island and the room leads to a spacious deck with built-in spa and sunset views.
Not sure where the refrigerator is located? But who cares…let the private chef worry about that!
Anyway moving on….
All the guest rooms are located on the main floor, and have en-suites. This one has sliding glass doors and deck access.
The home has a total of 4.5 bathrooms.

A private study with built in shelving attaches to the master bedroom.
The master suite sprawls across the entire second floor (as well it should) and has a double sided fireplace and ocean views.
A spa-style master bathroom has a soaking tub in the middle of the room.
A massive dressing room with custom fitted wardrobes attaches to the master bathroom.
There are two ocean-side balconies and two roof terraces, one with an outdoor fireplace and an ocean view.
The courtyard is wind-protected and has an outdoor fireplace.
The guest home is a split level with roughly 900 square feet.
The guest home overlooks the tennis court and has a living room with high-ceilings, wet bar, and fireplace.
The guest home also includes two spacious bathrooms and one dormitory-style bedroom with built-in bunk beds.
A built-in hot tub overlooks the ocean while…

I love the home. I would never want to leave. How do you have a wind-protected balcony? Never heard of that before. I’m not a big fan of the shingle siding–it doesn’t appear to be very appealing to the eye-however the inside makes up for all of that. Still an A+ in my book!
I completely agree! The wind protected balcony is that high wall that you see in the picture. Being near the ocean probably generates a lot of wind 🙂
The refrigerator is in the back wall. They are true built ins.

Thank you for sharing. but honestly, the house is not my style, too modern and a lot of the furniture are not made with strong wood – maybe I am wrong. The house is the same age as teenagers! But you know what, I love the pathway with “Eucalyptus trees” more than the house. the pathway is absolutely beautiful, just gorgeous!

yes, the view and beachfront is ok, but the type of furniture is a bit too much. It is like a house for teenager’s party.
