It has been a long and cold Winter in the Washington DC region this year, but signs that Spring weather is approaching…and here to stay…are evident.
Spring trees are in full bloom. Recently, I posted about our visit to see the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. HERE. But no need for us to go very far to see gorgeous cherry trees.
Cherry Blossom Tree Lined Driveway
Cherry blossom trees line the driveways of many homes in our neighborhood. It is a week of splendor to see so many blooming trees come to life after a dreary and cold Winter.
Spring Clean Up
Landscaping is in full swing with Spring clean ups, pulling weeds, trimming back trees and bushes, laying mulch, and mowing lawns. It is picturesque to see lush green grass after laying dormant over the Winter months.
In our neighborhood, backyards are looking vibrant and fresh, and friends are gathering to sit around the fire pit.
Many friends have already opened their pools in case we get warm Spring days to enjoy the water before Summer arrives.
Weeping Cherry Tree
Our weeping cherry tree has started to bloom, the tree produces hundreds of delicious mouth watering cherries each year that my kids enjoy picking. In dire need of a trim, but the tree is so pretty…I love the weeping branches. My son recently gifted me with a small bunch of blooms. I thought…what a great idea…let’s bring a few branches inside!
Bringing Cherry Blossom Branches Inside
The height of the branches creates an impressive display with a lot of color and little fuss.
The flowers look lovely nestled next to the warm fireplace.
Bringing a few branches inside makes the entire room light up. The buds are a reminder of new beginnings, new days and new hope. You can find live branches at your local florist or get the next best thing, and have these realistic beauties all year round HERE.
