10 Popular Design Ideas for a Happy Haute Home

Recently, Houzz published an article about Home Design Trends on the Rise and I realized that our home has many of these ideas.

I want to share some of these popular design trends that I read about but also add in a few other unique features about our home. I’m not trying to imply that our home is on the cutting edge of home design by any means, in fact we have done so many renovation projects in our home over the last three years..it makes my head spin. But many of the design ideas I am sharing about our home are original to the home and were installed by the builder in 2005.

These brick pavers were installed by our builder and are located at our front entrance door and on two front porch patios.

Instead of having outlets on the wall every few feet, our outlets are located in the base moldings leaving the walls free and clear. Many newer outlets have USB ports which allows you to connect an iPhone charger to the outlet.

As I mentioned earlier, this is my daughter’s bathroom and it has a lot going on, pink walls, crystal chandelier, pink marble and iron vanity…yea…this bathroom deserves its own separate blog post. I haven’t even touched on the top floor of our home on my blog – that’s a whole other story! Stay tuned…we are finally getting around to renovating the bedrooms!

People are realizing the importance of family time and using the space to connect with loved ones. 1. Great post, Denise! Your home is so lovely! And it’s fun that so many of these decorating trends have been around a while, and are really practical as well as fashionable! 🙂

    1. Thanks Barbara. I love the practical smart ideas, when you can tell the builder put some thought into the placement of things – not just looking for the cheapest way to do get it done. Pink marble?! 😬 That’s another story!

    2. Just goes to show you, if you keep it long enough, it will come back in fashion 😉 Thanks for reading Barbara, always a pleasure to hear from you. 💕
