A few weeks back, we enjoyed watching the Super Bowl at a neighborhood party and devoured many yummy dishes.
I didn’t really care who won the Super Bowl, but just enjoyed the comraderie of being with my favorite people. The event, hosted by dear friends, was a potluck. I made Ham and Cheese Sliders for the big game and they were a huge hit. I am sharing the recipe today, it’s a slightly different take on a slider recipe, and really good! I hope you enjoy it.
To make these hot ham and cheese sliders, I suggest using King Hawaiian Rolls.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c butter melted
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp minced dried onion
- 1 tbsp honey mustard
- 2 tbsp olive oil mayonnaise
- 12 King Hawaiian Buns
- 1/2 lb virginia ham sliced thin, not smoked or honey
- 1/3 lb swiss or havarti cheese sliced thin
Instructions:
Tip: One slice of ham and one slice of cheese is the perfect proportion for the sandwich. If you add another layer of ham or cheese, they will take longer to bake, and you risk burning the bottom of the buns.
Prepare the sauce in a pan. Melt the butter, add worcestershire sauce, onion, and mustard.
Brush the buns with the sauce and pour the remaining on top. Cover and bake for 12-14 minutes. I did not use the dried onion in my dish, and the recipe was still delicious, but the flavor will add that extra zing.
