Decorating for Fall with Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is one of the most versatile evergreens that is used in a multitude of ways, ranging from health to decor.

Many Uses of Eucalyptus

Did you know that there are over 400 different species of eucalyptus? A fast-growing evergreen tree native to Australia, eucalyptus is used as an ingredient in many products. It is used to reduce symptoms of coughs, colds, and congestion. It is also included in some creams and ointments aimed at relieving muscle and joint pain. Eucalyptus is also found in some dental products and is also effective as an insect repellant to keep mosquitoes away.

But my favorite use of eucalyptus is in home decor.

Eucalyptus as Decor

Here are three simple ways to use eucalyptus in your Fall decor. If you can’t find real, faux eucalyptus works just as well.

1.) Lay stems on a mantel

The leaves look so pretty laying on a mantel with one or two other objects. Drape a few leaves over the side for a layering effect.

2.) Added to a Vase

Adding eucalyptus leaves into a vase with roses or your favorite flower is another great way to add it to your Fall decor.

It looks so pretty with a variety of colors, from pastels to darker shades, eucalyptus makes a statement. The type used here is a flat leaf without seeds.

3.) Make a Table Runner

Eucalyptus is great for making a simple Fall table runner.

Gather six to eight stems and lay them down the center of the table, with each piece touching the piece before it. Have the stems point towards the center of the table.
Lay four to six white mini pumpkins in a zig zag direction on top of the eucalyptus leaves and trail it down the center of the table.
With this setting, I used a real pumpkin and hollowed out the center to make a Fall centerpiece. I lined the table with eucalyptus and mini pumpkins.
Decorating with Eucalyptus for the Fall is easy, fun and it doesn’t cost a lot. Add it to your other Fall decor for a whimsical look.
Whether you use real or faux, eucalyptus is fun for the Fall.
