2025 Christmas – Navy, Gold and Cream Christmas Tree

Where has the time gone? Feels like every time I blink, another month passes!

In my last post, I shared that we moved into a new home. Let me tell you, I absolutely LOVE our new house! It’s only been a month or so, but it really feels like “Home”. When people ask, where is your happy place, it’s not the beach or the mountains, my answer will always be “Home”. A place of safety and warmth, love, peace and joy, the place we lay our heads needs to feel good to us and make us feel secure. I have always put a great amount of love, effort, and time into making our home feel that way for all the people I love who live within these walls and those I invite inside. You all are part of that special group that I invite into my house and always hope to bring inspiration for all who enter to take a piece back into their own homes.

Ok enough of my mushy sentiments 😭, the holidays are bringing this out in me…onto decor!

This year, I was inspired by the blue walls in our home and wanted to add more dark rich blue for the holidays. Using a green tree as my base, I loaded it up with rich ornaments of navy, gold and cream. Stood back and thought, wow that is beautiful! And I could have stopped there, but I just had to add a touch of red..in the form of some berries. Ever so faint, but enough to make it pop even more.

Focusing mainly on the family room this year, as that is where we spend most of our time together, I added a Christmas village to the shelves.

Did I mention, Bentley loves the house too?

He has a favorite corner, where his bed is – also near the window for optimal viewing of furry animals.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. I haven’t figured out yet how to use the fireplace! It’s not really an issue yet because the TV is usually covering it 😂

We are a big TV family, and it has not been mounted on the fireplace as of yet. In the new year, I want to give the fireplace a refresh but have not figured out what direction to go. Painting the stone is one option (by far the most economical) and completely replacing with a more traditional wood mantle and surround is another option. I’ve also looked into adding a limestone fireplace surround. What do you think?

Here is a closer view of the space. In addition, I want to give the bookcases a bit of a refresh with additional lighting and shelves.

In the sunroom, I added our family tree. Adorned with Christopehr Radko and Waterford ornaments, my family loves having treasures from the past to open every year.

Thank you for joining me on a little Christmas tour of our home. Next year, I plan to go much bigger with decor and decorate more rooms. Moving into our new home so late in the year threw my schedule off quite a bit.

I wish you all a very merry and safe holiday and Christmas season. Love to you all ❤️ 🎄

    1. Oh my goodness thank you so much!! Your comment is so sweet and thoughtful, very much appreciated 😊 Happy holidays to you and yours 🎄🤗

  2. I’m so glad you’re loving your home and Bentley too! He’s cute. The trees are decorated pretty as usual and bookcases pretty. A different mantel would probably look better. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND FAMILY!

    1. Hi Nancy! We really are…feels so nice to have a permanent home 🏡. I agree, the mantel needs a refresh of some sort, thank you for your thoughts. Have a very merry Christmas and fabulous new year! 🎄🥂

  3. What a great idea to place the TV on the fireplace…..I would leave it right there, but then I don’t like tv’s hanging on the wall as they are usually too high up. Merry Christmas Denise!

    1. Hi Joni, I agree and think over the fireplace is usually too high, but that’s my only option unless I want a small one on the bookcase…which is where the prior owners had theirs. I actually like the height now, on the foot of the fireplace but we aren’t able to use the fireplace…on the wall it goes 🙂 thanks of visiting and I hope you have a wonderful holiday 🎄
