As much as I would love to see tulips and daffodils popping up around our home, Old Man Winter is just arriving in Washington D.C. We are awaiting our first big snowstorm of the season and the kids are dying to have days off from school.
I have started to put our Christmas decor away, but am keeping many Winter vignettes to make the home feel warm and inviting.
The ornaments are off the trees waiting to be packed up, and fresh flowers brighten the room.
Nothing says Winter season more than bright red anything. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, red roses are the perfect addition to any room of the home.
Vase fillers of natural accents like birch wood, pinecones and berries are still a Winter favorite of mine.
Lighted trees come on in the evening twinkling brightly though the window, along with snowy trees on the coffee table reminding us of the snow to come. White candles are also perfect any time of the year and I like to use plenty of White and cozy accents like a chunky throw HERE to create a Winter theme in our home.
Snowy pinecones adorn the dining room sideboard…
While a collection of white poinsettias in a footed bowl create an impressive dining table centerpiece. The footed bowl is from Pier One HERE – my favorite store to buy vases.
And our gold tree with white lights is still an integral part of the season’s decor.
We will keep our Winter decor up through early February, and hope by then we will have had a HUGE snowstorm.
Hoping you all are having a Happy Winter too. For more decor inspiration, sign up to receive posts directly to your inbox, and follow along on Instagram HERE.
I love how you transition from Christmas to Winter decor! This is simply spectacular! I’m so inspired! I need to rethink the way I do “January” in my home. 🙂
Thanks Lynn, I just don’t see the rush to move to Spring when it’s still so cold outside!
