Another “Rogue” piece of equipment has been added to our Home Gym, and this one is a cardio beast.
Building the Ultimate Home Gym
We built our Rogue Gym a couple years back and use it every single week. Building “The Ultimate Home Gym” the Rogue Way was an investment in our bodies and mind and one of the smartest home additions we built.
Using the Gym to Achieve Fitness Goals has helped us stay in shape physically and mentally and made us mindful of decisions we make about food. When we work out, we care more about eating well and want to maintain the results we gain from the gym.
A piece of equipment I use often for cardio is a recumbent bike. We added it to our gym years back and I still love it. Some of the features include a comfortable seat, backrest and multiple programs for different levels of intensity. This bike is great if you want a light or hard cardio workout. On days I don’t feel very energetic but still want to burn some calories, I opt for a lower intensity. Other days, I go higher – it’s nice to have multiple options.
The Ultimate Full Body Workout Exercise Bike
My husband wanted a more challenging bike. After much research, he decided on the Rogue Echo Bike. Affectionally referred to as an “Satan’s Tricycle” and “the Assault Bike”- this air bike is overbuilt for a smoother ride. The bike combines heavy-duty steel with precision engineering to forge a stronger, sturdier fan bike. The bike also has an LCD console to track intervals, distance, calories burned, heart rate, and more. The harder you work on the bike, the harder the bike works for you.
This piece of equipment provides a “full body workout”. Unlike other bikes, it burns calories faster than anything else. The bike requires you to move heavy duty iron bars back and forth during the workout, forcing you to work your arms as well as your legs which burns a ton of calories.
How Does the Rogue Echo Bike Work?
Doing sprint intervals on the Echo bike is one of the best ways to improve your muscular endurance in a short amount of time as your body is constantly battling against resistance. The Echo bike comes installed with two interval options – 4 minutes of 20 second work and 10 second rest, and 4 minutes of 10 second work and 20 second rest. There is also an option to create your own custom workouts.
By doing short sprints on the echo bike followed by long rests you can build a great set of quads while not having a weighted load on your body.
What are the Health Benefits of the Echo Bike?
For those serious about improving their health, here’s a great factoid. The bike improves aerobic capacity and lactate threshold. What are these? I’m glad you asked. Aerobic capacity is the measure of the ability of the heart and lungs to get oxygen to the muscles. Lactate threshold is the maximal effort or intensity that an athlete can maintain for an extended period of time with little or no increase in lactate in the blood.
If you don’t want high intensity interval sprinting and think you would benefit more from doing 20-30 minute steady-state rides, that is possible too. You would aim to hold a consistent pace throughout the entire ride. As you continually practice this way you will aim to have a faster pace and as your pace gets faster while staying consistent, you will increase your aerobic capacity.

Wow – that looks like a fabulous piece of equipment! It totally matches your state of the art gym. I love a good cardio spin. Thanks for the gentle reminder and inspiration to get back on the bike!
Now that school is back in, I have no excuse not to exercise myself and try out our new air bike. My hubby says it’s hard! Always a pleasure when you visit my friend. 😘
Wow, it really is a beast…..but an interesting one!
Hi Joni, now that school is back in, my goal is to try it out! So far, it’s been too intimidating for me 😉
I seldom do any aerobic exercise, other than walking, so it’s doubly intimidating to me. My goal this fall/winter once the weather turns bad is to go to shallow pool exercise class, but that requires actually going there.
LOL! That’s why we have a home gym 🙂 It’s hard enough for me to walk downstairs…but if I had to leave the house? Forget it!
