For all the nut lovers out there…this recipe is for you.
OK, so we can’t call this recipe KETO friendly because of the sugar content, so I apologize for derailing you from your diet but this recipe is worth the calories if you love nuts.
Personally, I am a sucker for anything nut related, I don’t discriminate and love all nuts equally. Add sugar and I’m hooked for life. While the sugar is not recommended for a healthy diet, pecans and nuts are heart healthy, so in my mind…I’m half way there 😉
This easy recipe is a delicious way to add a bit of “spice” to a handful nuts. I must warn you, it will be very difficult to eat just one.
The nuts are delicious when they come right out of the oven, warm and sugary and oh so yummy. Candied pecans are the perfect snack for entertaining too. Think Sunday football or any sporting event, having a few friends over, or taking this snack to a party. It can also serve as a delicious dessert or anytime snack, basically, these nuts are delicious for any event on any day.
Ingredients for Candied Pecans
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
How to Make Candied Pecans
1.) Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl.
2.) Whisk egg white and water together in a separate large container until frothy. Toss pecans in the egg white mixture and coat pecans evenly.
3.) Add sugar mixture into pecan mixture and coat nuts evenly.
5.) Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes until pecans are evenly browned.
Tip: The pecans are delicious when they come out of the oven and get better tasting with time. Store in an air tight container for later use, as they are a fabulous next day treat.
If you love pecans, you will love this recipe as much as I do. Let me know what you think!
