What will summer vacation look like in 2020? Does it make sense to even take a family vacay?
The year 2020 will go down as the strangest year I have ever experienced in my life. 2020 will be known as the year the world shut down due to a deadly pandemic that affected just about every single person…all to varying degrees.
As we adjust to a new normal but our lives are still so uncertain and we are wearing masks to prevent the spread of a second way of the virus, does it make sense to take a family vacation this year? We want to get away and enjoy time together outside the confines of our home, but know there are many limitations on activities that we would want to enjoy during a typical vacation. Where does that leave us?
We are choosing a beach vacation within driving distance to our home. We want to avoid an airplane so this option seems to be a perfect fit. We are lucky enough to have family who own a beautiful home in Bethany and that is where we are choosing to spend our summer vacation. As an added bonus, we get to spend time with extended family whom we have missed seeing so much due to COVID.
Today I am sharing relaxing and calming pictures of our 2020 family vacation at the beach. We didn’t visit any restaurants or step foot on the beach, but instead spent time talking, laughing, eating, drinking, boating and watching the sun set.
All in all, our family vacation this year was pretty perfect. It felt private, safe, and loaded with fun times. The kids had a blast spending time with cousins and we enjoyed cooking and laughing around the table with beautiful views of the water.
How about you, will you take a family vacation this year?
