Ladies, do you need some denimspiration? Looking for hot new jeans to rock this year? Well, I have you covered (literally). Going to show you some hot new trends that women over 40 can rock and look incredible doing!

Denim Trend #1 – Wide Leg Cuffed Jeans

Let’s start with the first huge trend. And I mean huge! These wide leg cuffed jeans are all the rage.

I am 5’3″ and these jeans just reach the bottom but don’t touch the floor with a pair of heels. They are super relaxed, high waisted and stylish. I was surprised I liked them so much, I was sure they would over power me but with a belt and the proper top they are a great addition to my wardrobe.

Denim Trend #2 – Wide Leg Jean

Relaxed and a wider leg for comfort, these high waisted wide leg jeans are casual perfection.

The raw hem gives it a more casual style and they are still fitted throughout the waist and hip area. Paired with pointed toe heels for an elegant dressed up look.

Denim Trend #3 – White and Off White Mom Jeans

These Ecru colored jeans look beautiful paired with rich gold tones or other whites. Also high waisted for an elongated look and we all want our legs to look longer…right? 😉

Denim Trend #4-Dressed Up Dark Wash Flared Jean

These types of jeans are darker in color, flared and the style is elevated. Some have seams down the front or a slit on the bottom hem. These particular ones have front pockets I love. Do you see a trend in high waisted jeans? They fit perfectly and give a stylish look for any season. I feel that particularly the high waisted flared jeans make my legs look longer because there is so much denim coverage. I love the look with pointed toe heels or boots.

Denim Trend #5 – Straight Leg Jean

Always in fashion, the straight leg is classic and comfortable fashion. These jeans are by Ralph Lauren and are years old but I still love them and wear them often.

Denim Trend #6 – Vintage Tapered Leg Low Rise Structured Jeans

Possibly my new favorite jean. These jeans are made in Japan and are thick and very structured and not a lot of stretch. They are on the pricier side but provide a slim relaxed fit and are very comfortable.

They can be rolled up at the ankle and are the perfect length for my 5’3″ height – no alterations needed. They are considered low waisted, on my frame I feel they sit right around my hip. Since they are low waisted, the look is not as elongating but that’s ok, I appreciate all the different styles for what they offer.

What do you think about these trends? Do you like them or not. Drop me a line and let me know. Again, if you prefer to see more of these denim trends via video and want an update on what I’ve been up to please check out my video HERE.

So good to be back, missed you all.

  1. All for high waisted wide leg jeans. Love the A&F raw hem jeans. You can wear those jeans with any shoe and look stylish. Great post, very helpful jean trend choices

    1. Hi Cornelia, so glad you like the post. I’m actually wearing those today out with friends. So comfortable and makes me feel confident. We all need that! Have a great day

  2. Denise!!! I was just thinking about you the other day and thinking I have not seen a post from Happy Haute Home in sooo long. I did a double take when I saw this in my email. Glad you are back, hope all is well and you look great in anything. Thanks for the inspiration to pull out a few pair of my jeans (and my super cute purses) that have been collecting dust in the back of my closet pretty much since Covid hit and I started wearing nothing but stretchy pants!😊

    1. Hi Laurie. So glad I inspired you! I have plenty of pairs of stretchy pants too but do love dressing up when I go out. Just like decorating my home, I love to decorate me 🙂 So yes pull out those jeans and purses and go have fun!!

  3. I love the wide leg jeans but I also wear the ankle jeans. Thanks for this post and glad to hear from you. I’m trying to figure out the rental…you don’t have to say but thought I have missed something. I only look at blogs not Instagram.

    1. Hi Nancy, the ankle jeans are great since I’m on the shorter side they fit me perfectly. I’ve been more active on YT, posted some updates over there if you’re interested. Nice to hear from you!!
