Bringing Fall touches into our homes doesn’t have to be time consuming. We are all busy with jobs, families, and activities so let’s keep it simple.
The Fall season is one of the loveliest here on the east coast. The changing of leaves is a sight to behold. The vibrant orange, reds, browns, and yellows are stunning. The smell of pumpkin spice conjures up feelings and images of cooler days and cozy night by the fireplace, snuggled in a warm blanket.
Bringing a touch of the Fall season indoors is easy peasy…just keep it simple.
As much as I love neutral colors and the consistency of a neutral palette, I always find myself drawn to bright Fall colors.
I enjoy a neutral palette in the home essentials but love adding that pop of colors with accessories.
Pumpkin orange is such a great color to add to any room in the Fall. Fabrics like velvet make the color all the more richer. A simple bowl with a few velvet pumpkins brightens up my countertop.
A vase of seeded eucalyptus stands tall on the stovetop. Eucalyptus lasts a long time in a vase with water, and is a great addition to any room on its own.
I don’t plan to buy any faux pumpkins this season, I have a nice supply that I have collected over the years. I am much more of a minimalist these days and would rather buy real pumpkins to use as decor than faux and have to store them.
Fresh flowers will always be my favorite decor element and I will continue to buy them year round. A vase of fresh flowers on the island is all I need to dress up the space. Three simple additions in my kitchen this year, fresh flowers, fresh eucalyptus, and velvet pumpkins.
When real pumpkins start to appear in the supermarket I am sure to pick up several, but for now..fresh flowers will do the trick.

I too have started to bring out the fall decor. I go very minimalist during the summer for easy cleaning so I can focus on the gardens. Now is the time to start making the house more cosy and bring on the orange. I even have 2 large pictures I switch out for the fall season. Hurray for the cooler temperatures! Soon the fall rains will come and I will not have to be constantly watering.
What a great idea on changing out pictures! I love it! Hooray for rain and morning dew! I’ve been watering as well, I actually enjoy it – in the evening being outside 🙂
Thank you so much for your great ideas!!💕🌻

Good point! Thanks for visiting
I like the idea of velvet pumpkins! But no I have not started to decorate for fall yet, as I don’t want summer to end. Maybe the end of the month. We are still having nice weather, so other than earlier evenings and a bit of cool breeze it still feels like summer on the sunny days.
Enjoy every last minute of summer Joni, we are too. Still enjoying pool season here too! 🙂
