Ideas for Hosting an Elegant Galentine’s Day Brunch

Hey ladies! What’s more exciting than Valentine’s Day? G-A-L-E-N-T-I-N-E-S D-A-Y! Not to take anything away from spending time with our most special someone but it’s also time to celebrate our girlfriends and Mom relationships.

Today is Galentine’s Day, February 13. It is a holiday dedicated to women coming together and celebrating friendships and accomplishments. It is best defined by the words of the holiday’s creator, the fictional Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation.

I had the pleasure of attending the best ever Galentine’s Day party my good friend @ Flight of Fancy was hosting this past weekend. Even though February 13 has been coined “Galentine’s Day”, you can pick any day in February to host an event for your squad. Leave your spouses, boyfriends and kids at home…and kick it breakfast style 😉

Here are some tips on how to host an amazing and elegant Galentine’s Day Brunch.

What do you wear to a Galentine’s Day Party?

Galentine's Day 1-26Staying in the family of red, pink, or blush – you will be perfectly styled for the day to celebrate your girls with the color of LOVE.

Outdoor Galentine’s Day Decor

G Day 2Galentine Day festivities begin the moment you stroll up to the door. Welcome your guests with a gorgeous wreath or wreaths made up of Roses (Similar HERE) with festive Valentine’s Day colors. These Winter wreaths can be hung shortly after the new year and stay up through mid March. They add the perfect pop of color to any home.

Welcome Guests with a Sign

Galentine's Day 1-11As soon as you enter the home, welcome guests with a chalk board sign and a beautiful arrangement of fresh florals. Having these details at a party immediately makes guests feel special and creates an inviting atmosphere.

Galentine's Day 1-10The foyer of a home is the first impression guests see when they enter your house. Make it count with a WOW factor.

Galentine's Day 1-17This beautiful flower arrangement is set in a champagne bucket and consists of roses, carnations, tulips, eucalyptus, and a few sprigs of hypericum. The flowers greet you as you enter the home, and off in the distance, balloons adorn the doors leading out to the covered deck. The bar is conveniently set up for easy access from all areas of the home.

Galentine's Day 1-20Light pink is the perfect color for Galentine’s Day, and mixes so well with the theme of the party.

Consider a Valentine’s Day Tree for a Galentine’s Day Party

Galentine's Day 1-16A Valentine’s Day tree with soft pink and blush decor will make a statement in any room of a home. Our hostess has her beautiful tree set up in the library she has recently renovated.

Hire a Bartender

Galentine's Day 1-13You have heard me talk about party planning a lot on my blog. One piece of advice I always suggest is to hire a bartender! If your budget does not allow for bartending services, ask a friend or someone you know to come over for a few hours to tend bar. It relieves so much pressure and allows you to enjoy the day without worrying about preparing drinks for your guests.

Create a Signature Cocktail for your Gals

Galentine's Day 1-14Our Galentine’s Day hostess created three amazing Signature Cocktails for her guests. I am including the recipes below.

DRINK RECIPES FOR SIGNATURE COCKTAILS

Elderflower Rosé Vodka Spritz (served in tumbler)

  • 1 oz Grapefruit Rose Vodka
  • 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
  • ½ or less of Elderflower liqueur
  • Few drops of lemon juice
  • Rosé Prosecco
  • Mint for garnish

Combine first 4 ingredients in a stirring glass with ice, strain and serve. Top it off with Rosé Prosecco.

The Love Potion Cocktail (served in a champagne flute)

  • Blackberry simple syrup
  • Prosecco or Champagne

Add a small amount of the blackberry simple syrup to bottom of champagne glass and top with Prosecco or champagne. Add a sprig of thyme and 2 blackberries.

Chocolate Raspberry Martini (serve in a champagne flute)

  • 4 oz. Irish Cream liqueur
  • 2 oz raspberry vodka
  • 1 oz crème de cocoa liqueur
  • fresh raspberries for garnish

Mix all in a shaker with ice, strain and serve with fresh raspberries

Galentine's Day 3Tip: Have the glasses and straws set up and ready to go to make serving a snap.

Galentine's Day 1-12Add decorative touches like real roses frozen in ice cubes to create that special detail to your Galentine’s Day Brunch. Also add rose colored bottles to your beverage bucket to create a beautiful display.

Add a Balloon Banner

Galentine's Day 1-15You know how I love a good balloon banner! Having made a few myself, I detail the instructions and provide tips and tricks in How to Make a Balloon Banner, Balloon Backdrop, or Balloon Garland. This banner with a champagne bottle was the perfect addition to our Galentine’s Day Party.

Create an Elegant Serving Table for Food and Snacks

Galentine's Day 1-18This beautiful serving table in the dining room has an elegant raised wooden stand used for the centerpiece. Elevating your centerpiece will give dimension to the table and create a stunning appearance.

Galentine's Day 1-19A fruit parfait is individually prepared for guests to enjoy along with an assortment of toppings.

Galentine's Day 1-21The delicious brunch included as array of breakfast and lunch items, such as omelettes, sweet potatoes, shrimp, chicken, cheeses, and dips.

Galentine's Day 1-24And the chocolate covered bacon was a huge hit!!

Set up a Coffee Bar for a Galentine’s Day Brunch

Galentine's Day 1-9A Galentine’s Day Brunch is not complete without coffee. Your guests want coffee, but they don’t want to ask…so having this station is key! What better time to break out the fine china than for your besties.

Galentine's Day 1-7A pretty glass container with water is also essential for a Galentine’s Day Party. Fill it with fruits like limes, lemons, strawberries, oranges, or raspberries for an attractive display.

Set up a Dessert Station with Homemade Treats

Galentine's Day 1-6These gorgeous and delicious macarons were made by Pure Love Macaron . They were to die for! The lime macarons were infused with Patron Tequila and the Raspberry Macarons with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. The presentation was perfect as well!

Galentine's Day 1-4I mean how creative and fun are these little shooters?! They were a huge hit and loved by all.

Galentine's Day 1-3And this beautiful cake was made by a good friend. She is so creative and designed each piece on the cake and made everything herself. She doesn’t make cakes professionally, just has a love in baking for family and friends.  Let me tell you how delish it was!  She is graciously allowing me to post about how to make one of these cakes, so stay tuned that will be coming up shortly!

Galentine's Day 1-25We are coming to the end of our Galentine’s Day Party Ideas. I hope you enjoyed the post and picked up some tips and tricks for hosting a Galentine’s Day party for your tribe. I have such wonderful memories of hanging with my favorite squad, I will treasure always. Love my Gals and I know you love yours too.
