One room fully decorated for the holidays! I’m so happy to share our sunroom with you and show you the details of our Christmas decor.
My Christmas Color Scheme for the Sunroom
My color theme again this year for our sunroom is red, white, green, and a touch of blue. The theme is similar to last year’s decor. Red and white 4″ striped ribbon adorns our 9 foot flocked tree with pops of deep red. I always get so many questions about these trees and my decor so I will do my best to point you in the right direction in case you are interested in a similar theme for your home.
The Christmas Tree
I just love our heavily flocked white tree. It’s so full and pretty, brightening the room and making it look like a winter wonderland.
Along with this 9 footer, we have two other flocked trees just like this one a 7.5 foot and a 12 foot tree. I used two of them in my foyer last year at christmas time and received tons of compliments.
These trees sell out quickly, so if you are interested, I recommend shopping early. Other trees that may be of interest to you that I highly recommend are included in this post My Favorite Faux Christmas Trees.
Gift Boxes for Under a Christmas Tree
Another question I get asked frequently is about my gift boxes. I have many in shades of red, white, polka dot, and striped. You can find them HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE. Wrapping satin ribbon around the boxes stacked together makes such a statement.
Best and Most Beautiful Christmas Ornaments Ever!
Another commonly asked question, is where do I buy my ornaments. Over the years, I have collected many sets from my favorite online Christmas retailer Frontgate.
I have so many collections at this point, it’s fun to mix and match each year and create unique designs.
I use a variety of ornaments, flowers, poinsettias, snowballs, and ribbon. For the snowballs, I like ones with a sticky surface so they can just sit on a branch, and don’t have to be hung. I also like to play around with my ribbon and create fun bows and cool ways of attaching them to the tree.
Creating a Space in your Home for the Christmas Tree
This is a full view of the room. Each year I end up moving furniture around to accommodate my tree. I like to try different arrangements and room configurations to see what sticks. Bringing furniture in from other rooms, moving coffee tables around will give you a totally new look!
Add Furniture and Other Fun Elements to your Christmas Room Decor
Take for example this coffee table. It’s not new, but new to this room 🙂 It came up from the basement and down went our black iron industrial one. The size, look, color, and feel makes sense in this room. The black one is huge and fits the space in our lower level nicely and looks better with the leather sofas.
I also changed my chairs out from our family room. I brought in these tufted beauties (similar HERE) that were in another room. I love them in this room!! They are just perfect!
I’m also loving the addition of these small 12″ wreathes to each window. And at $10 a piece, I could afford to add them to all the windows we have in the room.
You all read about the mantle decor last week, but in case you missed it, check out How to Style a Gorgeous Christmas Mantel.
The addition of the white beads to the front was new for me this year…it adds so much to the overall look.
Moving onto the other side of the room, is where I added an extra chair and brought in a console table that was sitting in the foyer.
The little corner in the back provides extra seating and a view of the backyard.
Another favorite part of mine was the addition of this White House Ornament Tree Stand.
Having loved White House ornaments forever, I have collected years 1999 to the present. They are so fascinating and beautifully detailed – just love the colors and styles. Anyone else collect them?
And that my friends is our decorated sunroom. I hope you like it and find ideas to give your home that holiday feel. Even though our gatherings may be smaller this year, they can be just as meaningful and special as long as we have the spirit of the holidays in our hearts.
