Transitioning from holiday to my post holiday dining room could not have been easier.
Keeping it Simple
What made it so easy you ask? I kept it very simple for the holidays.
Each and every year, we throw a big Christmas party. This year, in an effort to keep everyone safe, we did not.
So our dining room did not get the activity it normally does during the holidays. We enjoyed a more peaceful Christmas with family. Even though we missed seeing our friends, we know the future is bright and we will see each other when the time is right.
Add Organic Elements
Keeping it simple and organic, I added a live orchid arrangement to the buffet. I created this centerpiece by using four orchids I purchased at the market and transferred them to my container. I filled the empty space with plastic bags and added green moss to the top layer.
It is doing so beautifully and really thriving.
As I look at this picture, I am reminded that it’s time to clean the crystal chandelier. I have a quick and easy process I learned a few years back, check out Cleaning Crystal Chandeliers – the Same Method Restoration Hardware Uses.
Faux Winter Blooms
My only new purchase for this room are these three faux paperwhites. Normally, I purchase bulbs each year and pot them, but I wanted to try faux…and I love them!! No mess, they are always in bloom, they don’t die, and I can use them each year!! Woohoo…it’s a win win.
I do love “real” like my orchids, but am getting a bit addicted to faux plants.
White Drippy Candles
Flickering candles are beautiful too…I can’t live without.
The dining room feels very romantic, calm, and peaceful. Sometimes less is more works out perfectly.
So much more to come in 2021. Lately, I have started focusing more attention to my YouTube Channel which I have been enjoying..hope you do too. I have so much to learn, and feel like quite the amateur right now but that’s ok. Don’t worry, my blog isn’t going anywhere…we have so much to cover this year. A few smaller renovations and the reveal of our outdoor project! So stay tuned!

Great job on the video Denise! The neutral, organic look is very soothing to the senses, I totally agree.
