My son is counting down the days, and we are officially less than 40 days away from Christmas, so I’m told 😉
I am in full on Christmas decorating mode over here and loving the new hues! Each year I challenge myself to come up with something different, and this year the sunroom is soft and romantic.
Not Using Traditional Holiday Colors this Year for the Christmas Room
If you are not into decorating with traditional holiday colors, this post is for you! There are no rules that say Christmas has to be all about red and green, decor is more about the items that are used instead of the colors. Having Santa dressed in pink is just as Christmasy as Santa dressed in red and green.
I chose a blush theme for the conservatory. This is the room that Santa visits each year. Our family spends Christmas Eve and morning in this room and this is where we celebrate the love and blessings of the Holiday season.
Our flocked Christmas tree has a softer look this year. Using tones of rose gold, blush, pearl, white, and hints of lavender – the tree feels romantic.
Add Teal into your Holiday Decor
You know I love to add in hints of teal whenever possible and this ribbon I found works perfectly! Available in many colors, teal and rose gold are used throughout the room.
Gift Boxes for the Christmas Tree Complete the Look
Another question I get asked frequently is about my gift boxes. I have many in shades of red, white, polka dot, and striped. You can find them HERE and HERE.
They are the perfect addition to complete the tree and yes – they are used for gifts – not just for decoration 😉
Ornaments for a Blush Christmas Tree
Many items I use on the tree, I found at Target and At Home. Using a combination of stems, ornaments, snowballs and wide ribbon – the tree is simple.
Greenery, such as the live Fiddle Leaf plants found HERE add a touch of traditional holiday color to the blush theme.
As I was decorating this room, I found myself missing the traditional colors that I love so much. But I will make up for it – as I’m going all out with the kitchen! Stay tuned for that reveal 🙂
Decorating a Christmas Mantel in Pink Tones
The Holiday mantel is adorned with greenery, lights, flocked garland, stockings, bows, and beaded garland. The ribbon is cut into 12 inch pieces that I insert into the garland but has the appearance of a continuous piece weaved throughout. The pieces can be easily removed and used for other projects. Last year, I used these pieces on the tree.
Add Wreaths to Each Window for the Holidays
Not sure what is going on with wreaths this year, but many are insanely expensive (and not attractive)! So when I found these reasonably priced wreaths, I bought as many as I could for the windows. They are the perfect size and add just the touch I was looking for…
I am always happy to bring out my treasured White House ornaments each year. I use an ornament stand to proudly display the vibrant colors and detail of each piece. Have you seen the one for this year? It’s teal!
Tie Satin Ribbon Around Ginger Jars and Other Holiday Ideas
Tying satin ribbon around ginger jars is an elegant holiday statement. These jars are used all year long and can be dressed up so easily for Christmas.
Did you notice that I wrapped white lights around the container for the fiddle tree?
My recent china cabinet purchase is getting some holiday love with wreaths and ribbon.
I am anxiously waiting for two candlesticks to arrive, those beauties will be placed on either side of the cabinet. They have been back ordered for quite some time, but should arrive early December. You may be interested in reading about Styling a Glass Cabinet with Vintage Dishes.
The coffee table in front of the fireplace holds this lovely vase with white and blush blooms. No new purchases here, I reused as much as I could in this room. By repurposing and using elements that I used in other rooms, a whole new feel is given to the space.
As you know, I love to decorate with books. I have many favorite coffee table and decor books HERE, HERE, and HERE. I like to open them up for the seasons and still go through them time and time again.
Aren’t these Christmas trees cute? This is the first time they are gracing this room.
A few snowflakes are hanging from the chandelier, giving the room a twinkling and reflective glow.
I hope you enjoy the Christmas decor this year and found some ideas for your cozy holiday home!

Denise, again I can’t find the words to tell you how much I love your beautiful room!! I love seeing how you incorporate other items you have in your house to use again & again. I look forward to seeing the other rooms. Please relax for Thanksgiving.
Hi Donna, you are so very nice! It’s so good to hear from you! Hope you all are doing well! Thanksgiving is always a lot of work, I host every year but I love having both families together 🙂 I hope you get to relax too for Thanksgiving! xoxo
Just beautiful Denise, as expected. I love zooming in on your tree and finding all the little surprises like the bucket with the champagne in it and the owls. I think I even saw the White House in there. Love the twinkling snowflakes on the chandelier too, And the sweet deer peeking out by the fireplace. Yes, yes let us see how beautiful it is at night as well.
Hi Laurie, you are so cute! You spotted my champagne bucket 🤣! Yes you are getting to know me well! My favorite Christmas song is Christmas Eve in Washington too. My kids are sick of hearing it 🤪 The evening is so pretty, I will show it to you! Maybe on Youtube where the light captures are better. I’ll let you know!
